Volunteers age 18 and older may participate in this program. Chaperones over the age of 25 are also welcome.

Each location is unique with different group sizes based on local Caribbean affiliates’ needs. Caribbean affiliates will provide the materials and service work for the week, while you are responsible for recruiting your group.  Most groups arrive on Sunday and depart the following Saturday, but this can vary based on the Caribbean with Purpose location.

  • First, you’ll need a group of at least five students (college or youth) in order to participate in Collegiate Challenge. See question “Can I participate as an individual?” for more details.
  • Once you have an interested group of friends, identify a team leader and your preferred travel dates. The team leader will serve as the primary point of contact for Caribbean with Purpose on all matters related to the volunteer trip. The team leader must be someone who is traveling on your trip.
  • Select an opportunity – local Caribbean with Purpose and date — for your group’s participation and click Apply.
  • This will take you to an intake form, which must be completed and submitted by the team leader on behalf of the entire group. Individual group members should not submit separate forms.
  • Within two business days, your selected Caribbean with Purpose Team Lead will contact your team’s leader to complete your registration.

At this time, Collegiate Challenge is only open to groups. The minimum and maximum team sizes are set by each Caribbean with Purpose Team Leader based on the capacity.

The group does have to be an official club or organization to participate. Ask around within your school, church, civic group or friends. You never know who might be interested, and how a trip together might strengthen your relationships!

Thank you for wanting to invest in the future with Caribbean with Purpose Youth Programs. We aim to instill a love of volunteering from an early age by providing a variety of volunteer opportunities for those ages 5 to 40.

Younger generations have always inspired the rest of us to better our world. That kind of idealism can be infectious, and when paired with tangible service, real change can occur. Our Youth Programs are the intersection of aspiration and action.
There are numerous benefits to volunteering in general, but volunteering with Caribbean with Purpose specifically provides the ability to:
  • Meet and work with those who are different than you, including other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners.
  • Understand the needs of others, particularly concerning underserved and under-resourced elementary schools.
  • Participate in meaningful work resulting in a sense of accomplishment.
  • Improve your own life and the lives of others in practical and long-lasting ways.
  • Have fun in a way you may not have thought possible.
There are several ways to engage in our Youth Programs listed below.
